City-Wide Cleanup

The City of Galesburg is holding a city-wide cleanup event. A large roll-off dumpster will be delivered on Monday, September 2nd, and picked up on Wednesday, September 11th.

The dumpster will be located across from the Community Center. Residents can use this opportunity to get rid of unwanted items and help keep our community clean.

Please note: This is for residents only. We cannot accept hazardous waste, tires, or appliances with Freon.

City of Galesburg – Boil Water Advisory Lifted

The boil water advisory for the City of Galesburg has been officially lifted as of Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

Water samples have been collected, tested, and cleared by a certified laboratory. The results confirm that the water is safe to drink and use as normal.

Residents may now resume using tap water for drinking, cooking, and all other purposes without boiling.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this advisory and thank you for helping us keep our community safe.

City of Galesburg – Boil Water Advisory Update

Expected Duration: Through August 25, 2025

The boil water advisory for the City of Galesburg has been extended. We have been unable to get the required water samples taken, tested, and cleared in a timely manner.

The advisory will remain in effect through Monday, August 25, 2025, at which time we are attempting to have it lifted.

During this time, all residents should continue to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing dishes.

We apologize for the inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience as we work to ensure the safety of our water supply. Updates will be posted on the City of Galesburg website as soon as they are available.

City of Galesburg – Boil Water Advisory

The City of Galesburg is issuing a boil water advisory beginning at 11:30 PM on Thursday, August 14, 2025. This advisory is expected to remain in effect through Wednesday, August 20, 2025, due to the repair of a water leak within the city.

Until further notice, all water used for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth, or washing dishes should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use. Water may be used for bathing and other non-consumable purposes without boiling.

Updates will be posted on the City of Galesburg website as soon as the advisory is lifted.
